Three Simple Tips to Stay Organized & Save TIME- You Can Start RIGHT NOW!

9/11/2017

I know how busy we all are and over the last few days I've noticed how a few simple habits I've created really save me time.  I can use that time to do the things that I love, like my research, projects, and sharing them all with you! :)  You can start doing these right now!  Ready for them?
Tip #1
Check mail ONCE per week.
This may sound impossible, but trust me, it's not!
If your mailbox will get too full, twice a week, MAX!
Once you get your mail you'll just sort through ONCE and each piece of mail will have one of these new  homes:
Recycle - Easiest one!  If you're like me, half my "mail" goes here!
Shred - Put in a shred pile if it's a lot and do it during commercials if you watch tv.  If it's not that much just shred right away.
File - Make the time to file them away.  Once you start doing this it's fast!
Action - Take action or leave in designated spot to take action at a later date (i.e.bills, calendar reminders).
I find doing this is very simple and once you get used to it you save time and have less clutter.
Obviously if you're waiting on something important in the mail, the rule must be broken, but go back asap! ;)
Tip #2
Load each type of utensil in your dishwasher in a specific basket section.
(all knives together, then dinner forks, salad forks, soup/large spoons, teaspoons).
I put them in this order and it's the same as how they're grouped in my drawer organizer.  No more having to sort through when you take them out of the dishwasher!

Tip #3
Have a designated spot for your keys near the entryway to your home.
This is either a hook, drawer, small bowl at an entrance table... you decide, but the keys HAVE to reside there at ALL times when you're home.  If you do this I promise you will NOT waste any more time looking for your keys, wondering where you left them, AGAIN!

Here is my example of where I keep my keys.
My new entry way does not allow for a little table to have this set on top, but I'll be getting a small shelf I can set it on.  Currently this is in a specific drawer near my front door.

Hope these tips have been helpful.  They may seem too simple to make a difference but trust me they WILL make a difference and you'll have more time to do the things you love with those you love!

Comment below if this was helpful and you'll be adding any of these to your daily routine.  Also, feel free to share your favorite organizational tip!

I can't wait to try your tips!

Loved the mail tips especially shredding during commercials! Had never thought of grouping the utensils in the dishwasher. Love it!

Have the key thing down pack! Can you believe I have a dishwasher and do not use it! 😱 Maybe I'll start getting into the habit.

I've been procrastinating on the shred...isn't it too loud while watching T.V? (That's the reason I've been putting it off- so much to shred 😩) Love the tips!
