Flawless Skin - Skincare Basics

If you read my previous post you should have been able to determine your skin type but if you are unsure, click here! Knowing your skin type is half the battle!  By following these tips along with the morning and night routine, you’ll have flawless skin in no time!!
My Skincare Basics:
  1. Use products that are formulated for your skin type.
  2. Follow the morning and night routine every day (below).
     3.  Don’t forget to use all your skin care products on your neck and area as well!
  4.  Use the same brand of products - they’re formulated to work together.  Otherwise you’re mixing and matching chemicals and that may be the reason for any issues, blemishes, scaring you’ve experienced.

Morning and Night Routine:
1.  Cleanse
2.  Exfoliate (this is a gentle exfoliator not a weekly mask/peel).
3.  Tone
4.  Moisturize/Hydrate
5.  Protect* (Morning only)
       If you can find a moisturizer with SPF 15+ that’s even better.

Make sure it’s broad spectrum (protects from UVA and UVB rays).
       *
Protect = Foundation.
      Foundation is protection because it protects your skin from dust, dirt, debris and free radicals that would otherwise sit on your unprotected skin all day and may clog your pores.

Since you’ll be washing your skin in the evening, all the dust, dirt, debris, and makeup that’s on will be gently washed away to help skin renew and regenerate.

Make sure it’s non-comedogenic (it means it won’t clog your pores).

Additional Tips:
       * Make sure all products are non-comedogenic (won't clog your pores).
       *
If you can find a daytime moisturizer with SPF 15+  that's great.
       Make sure it’s broad spectrum (protects from UVA and UVB rays).

 *    You may also find foundations with sunscreen in them, again if you can get one with SPF 15+ that would be a great addition to your skin care uv ray protection.
     *   No matter your skin type, please note that any time you introduce any new products into your skin care regimen you’re bound to see some changes in your skin.  These changes may seem like an allergic reaction or breakouts.
   *  If you’re burning, itching, uncomfortable, please discontinue using those products and find ones that are more suitable for your skin. You probably are allergic to something in it and should discontinue use.
     *  If however, the breakout seems to be like you’re getting bumps or acne or skin changes in texture please know that this is your skin getting rid of impurities in the dermis that it has not been able to clear up and bring to the surface (epidermis) with your previous skin care regimen.  Be patient, most likely you've introduced many products to your skin and not allowed it the proper time to adapt and work it's natural re-generating course without disruption.  Allow up to two weeks for new skin care regimen to clear up your skin.
     *Usually in two week’s time you’ll notice your skin is in better shape than it’s been and all the breakouts are gone, leaving only flawless, beautiful skin!

Hope this has been a helpful post!  Let me know if you have any questions or comments and how it's going on your journey to flawless skin!
