I've been wanting to learn more about essential oils to see how I can further  incorporate them into my lifestyle.  I've had lavender and tea tree oils as part of my essential oils "collection" (if you can call it that) for quite some time but as I'm learning more I want to share!  Here is a quick snapshot of some of the benefits of a few oils you may want to start with!
Lavender (Lavandula Angusifolia)
(3S's - Stress, Sleep, Skin)
  • Calming - stress and tension reducer
  • Has been shown to lower anxiety & depression
  • Helps support more restful sleep
  • Natural healing properties (skin), as well as bug & insect repellent
Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia)
  • Powerful antiseptic (great for all purpose cleaner & air purifier)
  • Helps heal wounds
  • Blemish reducer
  • Promotes healthy skin, scalp, gums
Frankincense (Boswellia Carterii, Boswellia Frereana or Boswellia Serrata)
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Relieves feelings of anxiety, brain fog, depression & insomnia
  • Cellular health  - cancer fighting properties†
Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
  • Improved focus, concentration, and energy
  • Aids in digestion†
  • Improves breathing†
  • Reduces muscle soreness
  • Freshens breath
Lemon (Citrus Limon)
  • Antimicrobial properties
  • Helps increase energy levels
  • Supports healthy weight management
  • Aids in digestion†
  • Reduces stress and improves mood

Additional Tips:
  • Be sure your oils are 100% pure, steam distilled, therapeutic grade, and if possible organic.
  • Essential oils are EXTREMELY concentrated so please do research or look back for future posts for proper applications.
  • Only a couple of drops are needed and unless you are using in a diffuser (with water) you typically want to use with a carrier oil.
  • You can diffuse all of these; that's a great way to benefit from them!   I would encourage you to buy a diffuser if you don't already have one!
The diffuser I have comes in several colors (mine is blue)!
I also added a link to a great aromatherapy oil kit that has 5 of the oils I mentioned, it's very well priced, and it's from a solid company. ;)

You can view below or in the Shopping/Resources page.

I'll be sharing more about specific essential oils, their individual benefits, usage, and tips in upcoming posts.

Please comment below if there are any you'd like me to research!

Hope this was helpful!
