What do you use cotton balls for? I've always used them for removing my eye makeup or some hard to remove lipstick and to apply toner. Throwing away multiple cotton balls (2-4) daily, or those round cotton pads seemed like a bit of waste. Lately I've been wondering if I could use something else that's gentle, yet I can feel like there is less waste. If you've read some of my previous blogs you won't be surprised to see what my alternative is! Konjac eye cleansing pads! Not every company has these eye cleansing pads although there are several companies out there you can purchase konjac sponges from.
I found mine here and ordered through one of their affiliate sites. I found The Konjac Sponge Company makes these eye cleansing pads which are basically the same size as a round cotton pad yet they’re reusable. They come in a package of 10 and cost about $30. I love how small they are and that I can use them to: 1. Remove eye makeup with some oil (makes it gentler to remove eye makeup) 2. Apply cleanser 3. Exfoliate 4. Apply toner All you have to do is rinse it after each use and let it dry in between uses. When you first take them out of the package they are super dry and hard. Just put your eye cleansing pad in hot water for a few minutes and the sponge will become soft. What I like most is that I’ve only used one of the sponges so far and I can easily travel with it, just one!! I have been using them since March and I started using the second one in July! As with the other konjac sponges they are compostable. I know you can purchase cotton balls on sale and maybe it will be about the same amount of money you’re spending. For me it’s not having all those used cotton balls sitting in a landfill and not having that huge bag of cotton balls taking up space in my bathroom.
